Has your Toyota RAV4 got gearbox problems? Is the gearbox on your RAV4 knocking or jittering? Are your gears difficult to change? Are you losing 2nd and 3rd gears or power? Do you hear a clinking when you go into reverse? Are you getting false diagnostic codes of P0750, P0753, P0758 and/or P1760 on your Toyota RAV4? You’re not alone and we can help! If your 2000 – 2005 RAV4 is experiencing these gearbox issues then it is likely to be your ECU (Engine Control Unit or Engine Control Module ECM).
Please note that even if you don't see an error code via the diagnostic tester, or any error lights on the dashboard: if the car has symptoms - it IS faulty!
This is a known problem of which Toyota are aware of. You can see the Toyota service bulletin PDF document here. An official recall, which has now expired, suggested a firmware update. This was never the right solution and we now know there is a better fix. You could buy a new ECU from Toyota, but the most economical and quickest way to solve the problem is to use our fast repair service and relax with the knowledge that all the ECU’s that we repair are tested live on a car both before and after repair.
This is a repair service for your 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 or 2005 Toyota RAV4 ECU (Engine Control Unit). The ECU is also commonly referred to as the computer or ECM (Engine Control Module). Examples of RAV4 ECU/ECM modules that have this problem can be found here
